Loose Change Avery and Bermas Lose It In Hard Fire Interview

rick's picture
Submitted by rick on Mon, 2006-12-18 23:44.

It has been a while since I have heard much from the Loose Change people and Dylan Avery, well over a month. So now just in time for the holiday break the Loose Change team is brought to the media and given the stage to take hold of the moment and present the truth for the public. This is not how to carry the banner of truth. Read the article.

Louder Than Words Dylan Avery and Jason Bermas debate Mark Roberts on Hard Fire with Ronald Wieck

Hard Fire opens with host Ronald Wieck laying the sticky trap for the one-time “kids” who shed their t-shirts and jeans for a Miami Vice Armani look. While giving them at first appearance some semblance of respectability, in fact more so than the crumpled host whose obviously without a mirror or makeup.

Opening the show Wieck explains:
“Just to provide context, um; many critics of the Bush administration feel that, um, he and his inner circle ignored warnings that attacks were on the way. Do you think that is a fair accusation?”

The LC 2 agreed thus sealing the direction of the interview.

This was the end of the game really and you can turn it off, they lose and Wieck has them in his hands with the help of an incredibly persistent and pedantic Roberts. I am not here now to debunk Wieck, nor Roberts, but to critique the inner message.

The main thing to remember is the crisis the government is facing. It is fact that the government and powers have not been able to control the Internet and the flow of information. The reason more than 50 percent of the people distrust the government is plain, the word is spreading and they are desperate to diffuse the threat posed by the Information highway. Billions of dollars have been allocated to that task by the Homeland Security Agency and this is some of the results.

Confusion on the net?

You will hear Wieck beat that drum several times; he knows what he is trying to drill home. His mind is so focused he loses it at one point trying to bring the focus back where he wants it.

So Wieck wants to make sure that the confusion on the net is that:

“There is an actual threat from radical Islam. There are real jihadists out there who mean to do us harm.

Dylan Avery and Bermas both mumble they agree.

Once again Wieck takes home his goal for the whole interview:
Too much confusion on the net where people tend to deny the existence of foreign enemies. And, you find yourself wondering do these people simply want us to disarm ourselves, to ignore any threat from abroad. “

Mark Roberts agrees so everyone now is with the government program.

Mark makes a denigrating definition about a “conspiracy movement” that calls itself the “Truth Movement” that “believe that all terrorist acts are really committed by the United States” and points out that Dylan and Bermas did make such claims and goes on to point out that Loose Change has the no plane on flight 93 in Pennsylvania.

The Louder Than Words boys are just not equipped to struggle with this caliber of Cointelpro and did not know they were falling.

Bermas goes on defensive and tries to bring up the FBI’s complicity in the 911 foreknowledge and is quickly quieted by Ronald Wieck with and amazing faux-pax “I am not suggesting that the Oklahoma City bombing isn’t a fascinating subject, but we really do have to the topic at hand 9/11.” Being corrected by all the others to the 93 World Trade Center bombing Wieck goes on “Yeah, I’m sorry the 93 Oklahoma bombing. So much for narcoleptics.

Dylan Avery finally wakes up from a comatose meditation that has him staring past to the future and goes on to comment about the film he made ONE year ago:

“We made that film essentially as a bunch a kids. That’s, that’s the reality of the situation. We’re a bunch of kids tackling a subject far beyond the scope of any one documentary. I will be the first to admit our film definitely contained errors, it still does contain some dubious claims, and it definitely does come to some conclusions that are not 100 percent backed up by the facts.”

YEOWWW! WOW! Dylan is turning over and what is happening? The next statement by Ronald Wieck allows one a glimpse into the whole reason this interview is taking place.

Wieck tells them:
“I want you to have the opportunity to correct the record, you know, anything that you feel that ahh perhaps, you’d rethink that perhaps you don’t want to commit yourself to any longer? This is a good time to bring that out.

Well, it looks like when the prosecutor has worked out a deal and you have to now stand before the court and lie so you can “cop a plea”.

So Dylan went on to say:
“Loose Change really is not a very fair representation of 911truth”… blah blah”

Wow, this is it. You say this, and you can make films and we will let you be the next Michael Moore. You are seeing the beginning now of the new career for Louder Than Words and they’re in the grown up world. A lot has changed in the year these kids made the film, but ONLY A YEAR. This setup is amazing.

While Dylan goes on to promote the limited hangout film by Hence it is apparently part of the setup as Wieck takes the ball and rolls with it.

“I had a long conversation with Mike Newman of the National Institute of Standards and he pointed out that the survivors, the victims families, the loved ones of the people killed in 911 were instrumental in getting congress to grant more funds to NIST to do their work. And, he said ‘We (NIST) feel that our work should stand as a legacy to these people’. He said the feedback from them was overwhelmingly positive.”

Wieck brings his golden points home on the NIST report “Simply because it is so comprehensive”

Comprehensive “of large scope; covering or involving much; inclusive”

Wieck again points up his main issue for this interview. His jobs worth: “I find on the net a reluctance on the part of conspiracists to engage the specific issues brought up in that report.”

Bermas then distracts back to Pennsylvania trying to get a chance at control of the interview, asking to see the plane parts. 82 percent of the plane is recovered and not one piece has been seen? Yet he allows the conversation to move off to details of debris fields and allows Mark Roberts to start his flying at the speed of a 45-caliber bullet dance.

Roberts, who is famous for allegedly being the agent in the beginning of the 911 Mysteries video compilation then took the stage and showed the kids how a real agent can take control. Dylan sits there staring into space for 90 percent of the interview and we wonder what he might be thinking but think we do not want to know.

Note how Roberts takes the show away even from Wieck. Roberts almost bitch-slaps Wieck upside the head when he tries to interfere.

When Bermas finally asks Wieck if he ever saw the plane in the hanger so that there would be some evidence other than the “word of the government”, Wieck never gets to reply as Roberts move it to “Who have you talked to. “

Dylan continues to stare into space – perhaps hoping to see the future. Dylan? Hello??

Wieck wants to take it to the FAA as he has some connections at the Boston Globe. To prove that there were Arabs on the plane he goes on:

“A point needs to be made here. There’s some evidence that is not going to be available to us, to layman. For example a canard that shows up again and again on Conspirasists sites that there were no Arabs on the planes. Which on its face is absurd. The reality is the names of the hijackers appear on the passenger manifests.”

That canard not being a big enough piece of horse pucks that neither Avery, Bermas or Roberts picks up on he goes on to explain how we all (no normal person) can’t get a passenger manifest and are using the CNN victim list. Wieck states “If you or I try to get hold of a passenger manifest from the FAA we simply cant do it.” But he has a friend at the Boston Globe. Wieck states again, “I asked them look, you published seating positions of the hijackers, how did you know where they were seated?” They said “well, look its not hard we simply got the passenger manifest and these are the seating positions. Now they could do that, we cant.”

No one stops the show. No one stands on the table and reads Wieck the Constitution. No one screams what kind of censorship that is. Nope.

The LC crew misses the whole point and goes on to talk detailed arguments about falsified documents, frauds and lies. They tell Wieck they have nothing to do with flight manifests. Wieck says he knows. Wieck is smiling anyway, a job well done.

I think Dylan has some meeting he has already departed for, as he just did not participate much. Dylan?? You there? Yoo HOO!

Now Roberts came well prepared with pictures, notes and his story well focused. Each time he struck he waited for his moment like a tiger in the jungle. When he grabs his moment he does not let go until he has made his series of points. While I have no sympathy with his story at all I will applaud his performance and this man deserves his paycheck.

Roberts admits several times that he, as he uses “we” when speaking of government held evidence, is part of the government.

The core of this mass media release was to allow Dylan and Bermas to apologize, cop a plea and allow the shills to make their points without much fight. There was no concerted effort by the Louder than Words boys and Dylan’s attention span seemed only there for prepared notes that were given queue messages when to be given. The man said, “Now is the time” and he said his film was crap. What the hell is that all about?

There is much more in this as they trashed professor Jones and the thermite, but I have found the crux and I will outline it again.

This interview is to allow you to hear the government story by a slick professional, true cointelpro, Roberts. Wieck understands his job and followed his instructions. Bringing home the confusion on the Internet and the importance of the illusion of the Arab terrorist. A real move the powers are pushing and sort of giving up on the invisible enemy for a bit. Confusion on the Internet, the war on the Internet and the billion dollars budget to fight it. Where is it going? You are seeing it right there.

...

1) The presenter was OPENLY supporting Mark Roberts!!

2) Bermas and Avery were WAY too chummy with their opponent - it makes them look weak, and even suggests some degree of complicity. I do believe they are genuine but the net effect of their excessively good manners is to undermine their position.

3) Why are they all sitting together side by side??? Again, this undermines the debate and makes it look like they are all on the same side.

4) They allowed the presenter who is openly partisan to FRAME the debate as "conspiriscists Vs the Debunker". In terms of psychological warfare this is a total disasaster for 9/11 Truth. They should have refused point blank to allow the debate to be framed in this way. Jason and Dylan are the debunkers - Mark Roberts is the representative of the Official Fairy Tale - this should have been rammed down our throats. Unfortunately, it appeared exactly opposite, and Jason was put into the ridiculous position of trying to justify his irrational "conspiracy theories" against the "rational" Mark Roberts and the presenter.
5) They didn't stay focussed on their own best evidence...

Dylan and the Bobbing Head

I was trying to figure out what the heck Dylan was staring at. Was there a guy with a cue card? He only seemed to pick up his head when he made the strangest statements. Out of 50 minutes he had four sentences if I remember right. 48 minutes of staring into the vast depths of space.

The bobbing head thing is about as animated as he gets. Like the decorative dog toys in the back windows of cars. All in all a bad day for 911truth and a good day for Dylan and his future career in the "mans world" as he goes off to Hollywood to create the next Mel Gibson psycho-drama.

Mark Roberts's picture

Mr. Siegel, allow me to introduce myself.

Greetings, Rick, and thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts about the Hardfire show on writing. If they haven't been posted above, the links to the actual shows are here:

and

http://tinyurl.com/yfkqeo

The version you linked was shot by Korey Rowe.

To correct some of your misperceptions:

– I am a tour guide in New York City, not an agent of any government.

– I am not "famous for allegedly being the agent in the beginning of the 911 Mysteries video compilation." I do not appear in that video.

– I am not affiliated with any group and have not been paid by anyone for debunking 9/11 myths.

– Far from being a "slick professional, true cointelpro," that was my first "organized" debate ever and my first-ever TV talk show appearance.

In contrast, the Loose Change boys have done hundreds of interviews about 9/11, for television, radio, and print media. Jason Bermas has a radio show.

If you think the Loose Change boys fared poorly, it's not because I am any good. It's because there is no substance to their arguments. Sorry, but that's how pathetic your "movement" is. You will always be crushed by anyone with average intelligence, an ability to think critically, and a few facts.

I don't know what possessed you to post all that paranoid drivel about me. It's both hilarious and very, very sad. If you are in the New York City area I'd be glad to sit down with you to further discuss 9/11 issue.

Sincerely,
Mark Roberts

A history lesson for Ronnie

Mr Wieck, I find myself in the embarrassing position of having to correct your misconceptions about press impartiality. You mentioned newspaper editors, journalists and publishers in one of your colorful posts just now. Yes, you write well. although you have not the faintest idea of what you are saying. You live in a kind of inverted world where black is white, polticians are kindly, benevolent altruists abused by liberals and bloggers and the biggest threat to world peace are the unwashed Muslim masses.

Well, there you go. It's not the world I live in. Back to my point, it falls on me to give you a little lesson in the recent history of your country. I refer you to this excellent article by Alex Constantine.

Have you perhaps heard of OPERATION MOCKINGBIRD?

Or try this letter written in 1992 to the Washington Post by Julian C Holmes.

How the Washington Post Censors the News

A Letter to the Washington Post
by Julian C. Holmes
_________________________________________________________________

April 25, 1992
Richard Harwood, Ombudsman
The Washington Post
1150 15th Street NW
Washington, DC 20071

Dear Mr. Harwood,

Though the Washington Post does not over-extend itself in the pursuit
of hard news, just let drop the faintest rumor of a government
"conspiracy", and a klaxon horn goes off in the news room. Aroused
from apathy in the daily routine of reporting assignations and various
other political and social sports events, editors and reporters
scramble to the phones. The klaxon screams its warning: the greatest
single threat to herd-journalism, corporate profits, and government
stability -- the dreaded "CONSPIRACY THEORY"!!

`this paragraph is pertinent:

Former Washington Post publisher Philip Graham "believing that the function of the press was more often than not to mobilize consent for the policies of the government, was one of the architects of what became a widespread practice: the use and manipulation of journalists by the CIA" (*81). This scandal was known by its code name Operation MOCKINGBIRD. Former Washington Post reporter Carl Bernstein cites a former CIA deputy director as saying, "It was widely known that Phil Graham was someone you could get help from" (*82). More recently the Post provided cover for CIA personality Joseph Fernandez by "refusing to print his name for over a year up until the day his indictment was announced ...for crimes committed in his official capacity as CIA station chief in Costa Rica" (*83).

But, Mr Wieck, don't take it from me. I leave you with this quotation. Perhaps you know who said it?

''The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media.''

A 'conspiracy fantasist?' Jason Bermas? Rick Siegel?

William Colby, CIA director 1973-6

Insightful Commentary

Imagine my astonishment at discovering an accurate statement coming from a fantasist. Blind pig roots up truffle, although the metaphor is not very apt. Porkers use smell, not sight. Still, I really was setting a trap when I asked the Loose Change team if jihadists posed a genuine threat. So often I encounter imbeciles who accuse Bush of ignoring all sorts of warnings, only to assure me that al Qaeda doesn't exist, all of those attacks during the nineties being just more examples of the Great Satan's propensity for shooting itself (himself?) in the foot.

Yeah, Mark's a slick professional: a professional tour guide, the activity that produces, to the best of my knowledge, any paychecks he receives.

Your comments persuade me that I should be more impressed with the tiny show I occasionally host. Do you think I should ask the producer to pay me something, or would that sound excessively bold? I know that the gubmint lavishes such wealth on me for my cointelpro efforts that money shouldn't matter, but it turns out that my pay has been going to a Mexican wrestler. I don't mind telling you that I'm sick about it.

I hate to bring up a point that is reality-based--I understand that such behavior is frowned-on in tinfoil-hat circles--but the FAA's refusal to release passenger manifests to anyone at all does not constitute censorship, and only a lunatic could imagine that it does. To give a typical example, I encountered on a return flight from Vegas a violent nut who threatened my life and the lives of several other passengers. He was upset at having been told to turn off his cell phone. Perhaps you think it would be a good idea if that psycho could obtain names and addresses of the people he wanted to murder. Some us might disagree.

You conspiracy clowns are priceless. Five years of screaming, and you've produced bogus science, distorted quotes, and outright lies. Damn, if only Jason and Dylan had proved sharper debaters. Just imagine all of the "facts" they could have hit us with.

You'll have to imagine them because, as you know, they don't exist.

Welcome Mr. Wieck to 9/11 Researchers

The very regrettable problem is that I am not astonished at your revelation. I am sure there is much in life and reality that would astonish you.

Your delusions of grandeur postured from garnering my attention is want as it was Dylan Avery whose fame acquired my attention. You are but the Sideshow Bob. I hope the pain of that knowledge does not give you more grief than it has already.

Your sad misunderstanding of censorship and freedom, while not excusable, are part and parcel of the government education system and media, which you do represent. How can one impart to a “public access host” the fact that the press is just as much “laymen” as one can get? If the press has access the public has access. Perhaps you forgot the people are the government in America?

You are not the first American, king, ruler, conman or otherwise to think that the press, reporters, and small time crooks should have access to information and the “public” too immature to be allowed that right. That is a real canard Mr. Wieck. I provide other recent examples of more substantive company you keep:

http://www.ricksiegel.com/web/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=117

http://www.nyctv.com/Popular_Mechanics_Lies_Spitzer_Denies_Justice.htm

Your very tragic "story" is a canard also and shows your grasp of the fundamental meanings of freedom and liberty are so tarnished through the fears you breathe each day that you generously give them up for some false sense of security. You lead others to that prevarication Mr. Wieck and are no better than those you denigrate.

As to your less than perfect understanding of what constitutes an agent I would point you to this page where a complete definition of the word agent resides. While you may not find me a foil to the conspiracies you are familiar with I will oblige you when issues of freedom arise.

I thank you for so graciously choosing to open yourself here at this site. It is an open source research into the frauds surrounding events on September 11, 2001. All research can be posted here and a discerning mind is needed to find what may be reasonable. You are most welcome to frequent and comment as much as you like, take a blog, articles and post papers. Please bring Mr. Roberts, he has an extremely adept mind. You will probably find all you are looking for and can offer some balance to the researchers.

But beware Mr. Wieck, when you transgress into the lands of freedom and liberty you will be made short shrift. Plum the depths of depravity in the errors of theory but do not attempt to redefine liberty, freedom, history or the meaning of words.

Debate

I am happy to participate in an honest debate with any conspiracy fantasist. But, I understand going in that my adversary has no interest in an honest exchange of ideas. The entire fantasist position is a farrago of bogus science, distorted quotes, and pernicious lies. There isn't a shred of evidence supporting any of the myths circulated by the tinfoil-hat brigade.

I repeat: the notion that the FAA should make passenger manifests available to the general public is insane. Do you imagine that you have some sort of right to barge into a police station and demand access to their files? Stop being silly. I hang out with extreme libertarians who would laugh at your preposterous notion of censorship. The FAA must keep passenger lists confidential to prevent deranged ghouls from tormenting the families of the murder victims with their vicious slanders. The victims of the jihadists are not still alive and their families are not "lying."

research's picture

" Do you imagine that you

" Do you imagine that you have some sort of right to barge into a police station and demand access to their files? Stop being silly."

Now you are being "silly" Mr. Canard. Anyone can demand his or her files from the police. You should choose your friends and your statements more carefully. Libertarians do not hold the last word on freedom and liberty. Your "canard" once again is talking about police records easily obtained and obscuring the fact that you condone a "layman" - Boston Globe, having access to the FAA documents while other "laymen" do not. Why is the "press" a special "layman" that is allowed that access and you assent to that right?

As to 9/11 you would do well to show your real concern to bring a real debate to light. Even on your less than "mass media" show. While I cannot provide you with meat for your grinder I can certainly suggest that you use scientists from each side rather than children. The stacked deck only makes you look bad.

When the likes of Hearst Publications uses their top propagandists against these kids with their compilation of fuzzy logic the balance of reason has lost its place. You offer a circus not a debate.

Why not have a real structural engineer debate a real structural engineer?

I assume you will rather go for the circus being the consummate frustrated entertainer and judged by the quality of your points made here.

I find it hard to believe the conspiracy theories at all as there is no evidence to support any of them. This includes the governments joke about 15 Arabs laying waste to our largest city and the military headquarters. The Mayor disposed all evidence from NYC and the government withholds all evidence of this publc atrocity from the public. The only hard fact is there are 3000+ murders that happened in NYC and not one murder investigation to be had. All the forensics for those 3000+ crimes were disposed of by a highly trained DA who was then Mayor. Start at the beginning.

Ronald Wieck's picture

That Ball is Outta Here!

You certainly serve up fat pitches. I can't stage a debate between a structural engineer who accepts the mainstream account of the WTC's collapse and one who believes that explosives were used because THERE ARE NO STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS WHO BELIEVE THAT EXPLOSIVES WERE USED. That's right: None. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

Before you tell me about Danny Jowenko, Hugo Bachmann, and Jorg Schneider, I should inform you that Professor Schneider has explained to me that he and his colleague Professor Bachmann believe that the collapses of WTC 1 and 2 look NOTHING like controlled demolition. Jowenko says the same thing. All of these European academics got their bizarre ideas about WTC 7 from propaganda falsely claiming that the building was undamaged. They have never (to my knowledge) seen photos showing the twenty-story gash with smoke billowing out.

Ronald Wieck's picture

Inconvenient Math

The Impossibly Vast Conspiracy should properly be termed the Wildly Implausible Vast Conspiracy. The math is quite simple, but you will ignore it.

Let's suppose that an average person has a 50% chance of keeping a secret without spilling the beans for whatever reason (guilty conscience, bragging, bribery--any reason). When three people, each having a probability of .5 of never cracking, share a secret, the probability of protecting the secret is .5 x .5 x .5, or .125. Thus, 87.5% of the time that secret will slip out.

Now, let's try to estimate how many people are involved in our gigantic conspiracy.

There are the 200-plus researchers at NIST; the researchers at FEMA; all the independent academics who write for journals of physics and metallurgy (e.g. Thomas Eagar); the demolition specialists; the structural engineers; representatives of the Boeing Corporation, who insist that their commercial airliners cannot be flown by remote control (remember, they must be lying or the whole conspiracy theory vanishes in a puff of smoke); the FAA; NORAD; all the reporters and editors of newspapers who print information obtained from government sources; Police and Fire Departments; avionics techs who write papers exposing the falsehoods promoted by conspiracists; forensic investigators--the list can easily be extended.

Our conspiracy numbers in the thousands, certainly well over one thousand. But that won't do.

We'll pretend that there are only one hundred insiders. The figure is impossibly low, but play along.

We won't assume that these people are normal humans who have roughly an even chance of giving away a secret. No, we'll make all of them G. Gordon Liddy types--you'd have to pull out their fingernails to persuade them to talk. We'll assign an average never-divulge-the-secret probability of .9 to the members of this group. Notice that now if three of them share a secret, chances are it will not leak out (.9 x .9 x .9 = .729)--almost a three-quarters chance that the secret is safe.

Let's raise .9 to the hundredth power:
Oops! We discover that the chance of keeping this secret is only .00002656, which means that the chance the whole thing will unravel is 99.997%.

Remember, we're talking about a conspiracy consisting of 100 evildoers. The conspiracy YOU have in mind is at least ten times bigger. You can assign your comic book villains a probability of .99 of keeping their mouths shut, and this conspiracy will still be exposed over 99.99% of the time.

The main error you fantasists make is in assuming that people who stand to gain nothing from their complicity in a uniquely horrific crime will never talk. You pretend that the 200 researchers at NIST know some "real" truth that they fabricated ten thousand pages of graphs, illustrations, tables, and commentary in order to suppress. You give no impression of understanding how utterly fantastic this idea is. NIST employs Democrats, Republicans, Baptists, atheists, vegetarians, cat lovers, and golfers: your insinuation that all these people are soldiers in the Bush-Cheney crime family is totally bonkers.
