Handlers and the Handled

I want to make that point Ste Jones is the one who is perpetrating this "evidence". He has "leaked" it through Dylan.
Once again the trail of custody and authority for evidence is:
Anonymous and unaccredited, through Steven Jones, to another intermediary. From the thermite sample, dust, to this, all from Jones mystery stuff. But this time he tried to keep secret and let Dylan puff it out.

If Jones gets handed something from someone who wishes to remain anonymous, I think he should just say so. He's being sneaky.

Hearsay
That means it would be hearsay and not evidence. Evidence without trail of custody or authority has no validity. Similar to the now missing metal sample and pixie dust that is also not available.
Witness Protection etc
There are ways to deal with evidence from people who are afraid of getting "Eugene Maloved" or "Karen Silkwooded".
Jones could be straightforward, but instead he's acting tricky.
