So it hardly took much prescience to conceive of the WTC as the target of another attack.

On the other hand, the "Pentagon attack" card does seem to have a bit more foresight.

Given the dense network of air defenses (NORAD especially) over DC and the Pentagon, I would never have guessed they would attempt a false-flag assault on the Pentagon.

I would have said (even in the 1980s): No one will fall for it. They will know it couldn't be possible without a deliberate DoD and NORAD stand-down.
That shows how disastrously we have over-estimated the intelligence of the US public and underestimated their sheeplike gullibility.

Even now, I can hardly believe that people swallowed the fantasy that the Pentagon could be hit without it being an inside job, either a LIHOP or MIHOP.

It seems so absurd that millions would not immediately demand Rumsfeld's head (and those of the JCS) for allowing something so un-thinkable as a successful penetration of the Pentagon's defensive perimeter.

It's the Pentagon card that strikes me as strangely prescient, much more so than the WTC card.
