Boy Rick, you're really starting to tell it like it is; few sources will ever do that. Your knowledge has really taken a quantum leap forward since last time I read your stuff.
Yahoooooo -- we're taking no prisoners! ;)
Hate to burst your bubble, but...
In watching your factually challenged movie, I noticed basic conceptual flaws that would earn any freshman taking physics an F on even the easiest of kinematics exams. First of all, before throwing around Newton's laws, understand what they entail. The law of inertia is negated because there IS an external force acting on the object: the gravitational force. That is why the tower fell instead of just floating there. The law of conservation of momentum also doesn't apply here because the earth is not included in your so-called system. The law of conservation of momentum only works when gravity is not involved. One minute and 30 seconds into your ten minute move, you have been liberal about throwing around physics, unfortunately, it has all been wrong. Back from the anger tangent, your use of Newton's third law makes absolutely no sense. An equal and opposite reaction has nothing to do with your argument. The laws of projectile motion also have nothing to do with your argument. In such a cloud, the HUGE force acting on each particle causes it to follow the path of least resistance. No, that does not mean it goes straight down through the concrete. Now, skipping ahead a bit, to 4 minutes and 10 seconds in, I use your conservation of momentum argument in the Y and Z dimensions (along the ground). The tower had no force going that way, so there would be no reason for it to fall anywhere but down. 4:47 in, you talk about the massive seismic peaks. Did you ever consider that a 110 story tower falling may cause the ground to shake a bit? You explicitly state that it was after the plane crashed, and never mentioned the actual collapse, so I believe that the tower did not spontaneously become replaced by a pile of rubble, but, in fact, fell. According to Wikipedia, the bedrock in this area is 65 feet below the surface. Even if that is plus or minus 10 feet, destroying a massive structure rooted to it would cause it to shake a bit, unless, you are ignoring that inconvenient fact. A bit later, you cite the furniture fire as the cause of the heat. This is simply not the case. The furniture fire would have caused but a small fraction of the heat generated by, I don't know, say a 48,000 gallons of fuel combusting at once? This would create plenty of heat to melt high-temperature steel. Your analogy to a hot blue flame is just preposterous. A hot blue flame is a small fraction of the temperature of a flash fire of that magnitude. Your argument against NOVA presents itself as, at best, a logical fallacy. Just because they failed to have the correct fact does not prove a conspiracy. I know that it is a moot point to argue against your bashing of NOVA, but the outer supports and connections were removed from the model for clarity. And here come the actual numbers. The acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. This is disregarding (for the moment) the upward normal forces. as one meter is approximately equal to 3 feet, we can multiply the gravitational acceleration by three for conversion due to that. When plugged into the formula D=1/2 *G* time^2, we find that it is well under the necessary time of 10 seconds. "Should be rejected immediately?" Not a chance. On a side note, the NOVA footage was slowed down to make it clear what was happening. Otherwise, it would be nearly impossible to see what was going on (especially with the supports on the outside drawn in). Next up: your pencil analogy. Take your pencil and fill it with thermite to have some idea of how it would have actually happened. The pencil burns, as does the thermite, melting your screen, and generally making a mess of your patio, or wherever you choose to try this. Next: the Madrid Hotel: True, it burned "like an inferno" for a day, but there was no serious application of accelerant, like in the trade towers. That alone would be enough to do heat damage to the supports. Also, I hate to nit-pick, but since when was there a third tower (10:55)? This video does a wonderful job of displaying your knowledge of physics, or rather lack thereof, and I urge all of your viewers not to buy your DVD, except for comedic value.
Sincerely

Aqwas Bubbles Suspend Laws Of Physics
Yes, do you understand what a paragraph is? I think not.
From your first "bunk" where you decide you can suspend the laws of physics to support your "story" till the end with your ridiculous "experiment" of filling pencils with thermite all I can see is a gross lack of knowledge! You don’t even know that 3 towers collapsed. Your whole goal is to blow bubbles not make sense and a waste of time to devolve.
Go back to school get an education and then come back to talk to the big boys. You will not find replies to such dribble. It gives me no pleasure to educate the retarded, as I don’t need ignorant meat. It is the discerning mind that is important. You are dismissed.
My comment.
I notice that you bring in no physics to debunk me. I am guessing that this is because it is impossibe. Had you understood my rediculous thermite analogy, you would know that it was not because thermite is practical, but rather a more suitable analogy than the even more rediculous pencil analogy. Had the video maker taken a physics class in high-school, he would know that none of his uses of Newton's laws apply to the scenario. Understand my arguments (which also only require a basic understanding of physics and a lack of bias) before making judgments. I apologize for my paragraph structure, but the system will not let me edit it now, so i ask if it is good etiquette to post the same thing with a different paragraph structure again. I said there were two towers because the third was a completely different scenario. A large mass falling on top is different form of destruction than a plane exploding in the center. You are dismissed.
Lame Aqwas Reasoning
Once again you cannot talk physics as your premise is based on the suspension of the laws and that is bunk in the first place. A waste.
A waste also is the lame excuse for your paragraph formatting as you insist once again to show your lack of care in you next post - apology rings empty.
With simple grade school science you can easily see that the physics works quite well, the laws are in tact and we are at an impasse because your only argument requires the suspension of the laws of physics to work. Sorry, stage left. Try your con on old ladies or and government agents. They might find you credible if you are cute.
Also it was your ridiculous pencil filled with thermite theory I find ludicrous. I agree it cannot be "rediculous" so we do agree on something. You cannot write, you cannot think, you have to disregard laws of nature to operate your theory – dude – do you see what a waste of my time you become?
I am afraid you are mistaken.
My physics do NOT require a suspension of the laws, let's get that out to begin with.
The Law of inertia (which I assumed the readers would know) states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion UNLESS an external force acts upon it. Here, there IS an external force: gravity (you know, that thing that allows us to exist by keeping us and the atmosphere close? or is that a government conspiracy too?). Hence, it DOESN'T APPLY. It is not ignored, it just has nothing to do with the scenario.
Conservation of momentum also doesn't apply here, as there needs to be absolutely no potential energy being converted to kinetic energy for it to work. Newton mostly dealt with a completely different scenario: pure kinetic energy. He did not include the possibility of gravitational potential energy in any of his laws, aside from F=MA. Also, on a side note, the conservation of momentum DOES work in the sideways directions, because there is nothing coming from outside the system there (except the plane, but we can talk about that later). That is why it went down instead of jumping off of the side as your picture would suggest.
The comment that "for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction" has nothing to do with your argument. The statement is correct (a welcome change for sure), but there is no attempt to tie it into the argument that the World Trade Center was destroyed by the government
On to the pencil filled with thermite analogy, it was not a theory. I was simply saying that the gentleman in the video who said that the plane going through the side of the building was like a pencil going through a screen was mistaken. If that were true, then it is also true that nothing would have happened. However, the problem with that is that it conveniently forgets the fact that the "pencil" was generating enough heat to destroy the structural integrity of said screen, and thus his analogy is invalid.
As for the your "grade school science," it fails to cover many of the finer points of this problem, as do you. It makes assumptions to cover lack of depth in understanding. A classic example of this is Newton's three laws. This is not a problem where it says neatly at the bottom of the page "neglect gravity." 'Nuff said.
Also, on a side note, I do sincerely apologize for my paragraph formatting: it obstructs my message. I could say something like "I am also sorry that someone like you could pass our obviously lacking educational system," but let's not be nasty. Enough with the ad hominem remarks, they only cloud the debate. So far, that is the only evidence you have brought to the table, and, frankly, it is a logical fallacy to attack my personality instead of my arguments. And as for "a waste of my time," you COULD stop arguing, and I am not forcing you to stay. I am only attempting to refute your remarks against me and, more importantly, my logic. I had no idea there would be any interest in my post at all.
I cannot say enough how much I hope that next time you come back with evidence to support you. I am a true skeptic, I am begging to be convinced that I am wrong, but, so far, no compelling evidence has surfaced.
Sincerely,
Random Physicist #29 (Promoted)
PS: There seems to be some confusion about the intent of my post. I am Not a government spy. This is Not a con. I simply saw your video on Shoutcast and felt obligated to point out the flaws in the argument. Also, "in tact" is one word.
PPS: And I apologize for the "lack of care" in my next post, it seems that paragraphs need to be shorter that I thought.
Crawl away, laws of physics
Crawl away, laws of physics do not apply? BYE BYE! Go somewhere else to waste time. You want to learn watch the video. You want to pontificate, make a video. Your science is bull pucks.
It is true, sometimes not all laws of physics apply.
It is true, not all laws of physics apply in all situations. When there is not an action, there is not an equal and opposite reaction. Think of laws of physics not as a set of forces that must always be observed, but rather as a way to predict what will happen given a set of variables. The same holds true with other laws.
Please do not argue with me until you lean basic physics. It is a waste of time for both of us. Then, if you still want to disprove my argument, do so. And please do not use pathetic ad hominem arguments against me. They are, by definition, a logical fallacy.
As for making my own video, it is far more productive to stop misinformation than to re-iterate information.
